How to Apply to Serve as a Park Commissioner
The City of Lacey accepts application packets from citizens interested in serving on the Board of Park Commissioners on a continuous basis, whether or not there is a current opening. Application packets are kept on file for a period of one year from date of receipt and are considered each time a position becomes available. Applicants may be contacted by the Mayor to discuss the responsibilities of the position and interest in serving. The full City Council affirms citizen board and commission appointments based on the recommendation of the Mayor.
Applicants with a variety of skills, interests, and experiences are encouraged to apply.
Four general members of the Board of Park Commissioners must reside within the City of Lacey; the fifth general member must reside within the city or the Lacey Urban Growth Area (UGA).
Members must be able to commit to monthly board meetings, occasional joint planning sessions, and required preparation time.
TERMS OF OFFICE
Park Commissioners serve 3-year terms with a 2-term service limit.
All commission members serve in a volunteer capacity.

- Pick up an application packet at the City Manager's Office at Lacey City Hall, 420 College Street SE, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Please note: Incomplete applications may not be considered, so please submit all materials requested in the application packet. Application materials cannot be submitted online or by email.
