How to Apply to Serve as a Civil Service Commissioner
The City of Lacey accepts application packets from citizens interested in serving on the Civil Service Commission on a continuous basis, whether or not there is a current opening. Application packets are kept on file for a period of one year from date of receipt and are considered each time a position becomes available. You may be contacted by the City Manager or the Civil Service Examiner to discuss the responsibilities of the position and your interest in serving.
Applicants with a variety of skills, interests, and experiences are encouraged to apply.
Applicants to the Civil Service Commission must be United States citizens registered to vote within Thurston County.
Members must be able to commit to quarterly commission meetings and required preparation time.
TERMS OF OFFICE
Civil Service Commissioners serve 6-year terms with a 2-term service limit.
All commission members serve in a volunteer capacity.

- Contact the Deputy City Clerk at (360) 438-2620 or firstname.lastname@example.org and ask to have an application packet mailed to you; or
- Pick up an application packet at the City Manager's Office at Lacey City Hall, 420 College Street SE, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Please note: Incomplete applications may not be considered, so please submit all materials requested in the application packet. Application materials cannot be submitted online or by email.
