This office provides legal counsel and related services to the City of Lacey.  Civil legal services include advising the Council, City Manager, and all other departments, representing the city in litigation, and preparing legislation for consideration by the City Council.

This office is also responsible for prosecution of all misdemeanors and infractions resulting from citations by Lacey Police Officers, Animal Service Officers, and Code Enforcement Personnel.

The City of Lacey contracts with the City Attorney’s Office to provide legal counsel and prosecution services.

The Lacey Violations Bureau, located at City Hall, processes traffic, parking, and other citations issued by Lacey Police and the City Attorney’s Office.  The Violations Bureau receipts paid fines or forfeitures for traffic and parking violations.  Contested citations are referred to District Court, located at the Thurston County Courthouse.
