Residential Signs

The types of signs allowed in the City of Lacey within residential areas are: monument, low-profile monument, wall and fence.

 

Permitted Home Occupation

  • One flush mounted wall sign
  • Maximum size of 2 square feet
  • Can only be indirectly lit, no internal illumination
     

Permitted Non-Residential Uses within Residential Areas (i.e., churches, daycare centers)

  • One monument sign
  • Maximum height of 5 feet
  • Maximum sign area of 32 square feet

Neighborhood Considerations
Some Neighborhood or Homeowner Associations may have additional requirements for signs. Please check your neighborhood's covenants and restrictions or contact your association's representative for details.

 

To Apply for a Sign Permit

Fill out an Sign Permit Application (available at the Community Development counter and online).  Provide two copies of the drawing of the sign, including dimensions and submit fee. Some signs are subject to inspections.  more »
