Surplus Property Program
For many years, the City of Lacey conducted periodic on-site public auctions to dispose of obsolete municipal equipment and property, including computers, electronics, office furniture and vehicles. Proceeds from the auctions help defray costs of future purchases.
The city now contracts with an online auction service to make purchase of surplus items more convenient to the general public. Auction items can be viewed at
www.PublicSurplus.com by selecting “Washington” as the region and “City of Lacey” as the agency, and then selecting “View Auctions.” Individual items are offered for a limited time period, and may or may not be listed again if left unsold. For instructions on how to bid in an auction, select “Buyer Information” under “Help” on the auction site.
Shortly after an auction ends, successful bidders will receive an email from the auction company telling them they have submitted the winning bid. It is the bidder’s responsibility make final payment and to contact the City of Lacey and arrange for pick-up. The city cannot ship purchased items to bidders.
All items are sold on an “as-is” basis, without guarantee to the accuracy of the description, present or future condition, or performance. No warranty other than ownership is expressed or implied, and all sales are final.
