VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Stream Team

Ever wonder where water goes after running off your driveway?  Interested in identifying insects that live in your local streams?  Want to plant native trees and shrubs to improve wildlife habitat and reduce erosion?  Join your neighbors in Stream Team!

Stream Team is a free education to action program for people interested in protecting our local streams, rivers, lakes, and Puget Sound.  Citizens learn through field classes and trainings, and then give back to the community through action projects.  Since 1990, Stream Team volunteers have donated over 65,000 hours to our community through stream re-vegetation projects, stream monitoring, litter clean-ups, storm drain marking, day camps, wildlife projects, and other activities.  Stream Team is jointly funded by the storm and surface water utilities of Lacey, Olympia, Tumwater, and Thurston County.

How To Get Involved
Anyone in the south Puget Sound area is welcome to join the team.  To learn more about being a Stream Team volunteer, check out the Stream Team website or call (360) 438-2687 and leave your name, address, and phone number.
