The Parks and Recreation Department serves the community by providing health, inspiration and
recreation opportunities through quality programming, facilities and community
events. In addition, the department furthers the preservation and enhancement
of the environment through planned parks, open spaces and natural habitat areas at twenty-six locations. The department also manages the Regional Athletic Complex, the Lacey Community Center, the Lacey Museum, and
the Jacob Smith House.
A full spectrum of recreation services and activities are offered
for youth and adults, including aquatics, sports, cultural, fitness,
outdoor, teen and youth programs. And a growing array of special parks events, including a summer concert series, movies under the stars, an alternative energy fair, classic car shows, a family fish-in and numerous holiday activities offer year-round enjoyment to residents and visitors alike.
