Walking and Biking Trails

Our community contains miles of paved walking and biking trails, connecting neighborhoods with recreational amenities, commercial districts, and areas of employment.  A convenient and healthy way to relax or commute!

Lacey Woodland Trail
This paved pedestrian and bicycle trail parallels Pacific Avenue for 2.2 miles through the center of downtown Lacey, connecting Woodland Creek Community Park on the east and the Chehalis-Western and Olympia Woodland Trails at the west.  more»
I-5 Trail
A 3-mile paved urban trail for pedestrians and bicyclists connecting the satellite State Capitol Campus in Lacey to the main campus in neighboring Olympia. Trail parking available at the Lacey City Hall/Lacey Library complex, 420 College Street SE.  more»
William Ives Trail
A 1.5-mile forested walking trail through a nature preserve with fairway views of the Woodlands Golf Course at the Golf Club at Hawks Prairie. Trailheads located on Williamette Drive, ¼ mile south of Campus Drive NE, and at Meridian Neighborhood Park.  more»
Chehalis-Western Trail
This paved pedestrian and bicycle trail runs along Lacey’s western border, and stretches north 6.5 miles to the Woodard Bay Natural Resources Conservation Area and south 16 miles to the rural town of Rainier. The trail features access to Puget Sound, Chambers Lake, the Deschutes River, wetlands, forests, farm land, creeks, prairies and other habitats.  There are numerous trailheads.  For more information, visit the trail's website or call (360) 786-5595.
Other Trails
Walking and hiking trails are also provided at the Lake Lois Park and Habitat Reserve, Wonderwood Park, Wanschers Community Park, Woodland Creek Community Park, Tolmie State Park, Woodard Bay Natural Resources Conservation Area, and the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge.
