FIREWORKS

Residents and visitors celebrating the Independence Day holiday in the City of Lacey are encouraged to do so in a safe and enjoyable manner that is within the law. In 2005, Lacey voters approved Proposition No. 1, which prohibited the sale and discharge of fireworks within the city limits.
Prohibited fireworks include those that are typically referred to as safe and sane, including sparklers. Novelty devices such as snakes, glowworms, and party poppers are permitted.
Professional fireworks displays are unaffected by the community’s fireworks ordinance. For the last several decades South Sound Mall has played host to an Independence Day celebration. Fireworks will be hosted again at the South Sound Mall on Sunday, July 3.
A complete copy of the ordinance can be found in the
Lacey Municipal Code. For more information, please contact City Hall at (360) 491-3214.
